Five-Day Implementation Support Mission for Somalia Food Systems Resilience Project.

Nairobi, Kenya - A five-day Implementation Support Mission for the Somalia Food Systems Resilience Project (FSRP) recently concluded in Nairobi, bringing together delegations from the Federal Government of Somalia, various Federal Member States including Puntland, Jubaland, Southwest, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and Somaliland—and representatives from the World Bank.

The primary objective of the mission was to assess the progress made in implementing the FSRP, which is designed to enhance Somalia's preparedness against food insecurity and bolster the resilience of its food systems. During the sessions, participants discussed achievements, challenges, and strategies for future improvements.

Officials emphasized the importance of collaboration among the Federal Government and Member States in achieving the project’s goals. The FSRP aims to provide sustainable solutions to mitigate food insecurity, which remains a critical issue in the region.

The mission is seen as a pivotal step toward strengthening the food systems in Somalia, ensuring that communities are better equipped to withstand future shocks.
